ADVENTURE GIRLS SLUMBER NIGHT cum ROCK CLIMBING

On the 12th February, 18 adventure ranger girls and 5 commanders had a slumber night cum rock climbing camp. It was a fun and exciting camp, where the girls and commanders got to mingle around and got to know each other better.
The girls gathered at the youth house at 10 am in the morning to do their banners, songs and yells. They were split up into new patrols this year, and had to think of new names for each patrol based on the theme – “fruits”. All of them were very co-operative and not to forget, creative and fast in finishing their jobs. All three patrols did a great job in producing a song, yell and banner. They had really cute names for their patrol, which were: “goodness gracious grapes”, “lovely lemons” and “peaceful pineapples”. I think they deserve a big pat on their back for their effort. 
After a hearty lunch of nasi lemak and nuggets, we were all pumped up for the highlight of this camp – ROCK CLIMBING! We left for the rock climbing site at Delta Rovers. It was scorching hot but none of our spirits were dampened. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the person in charge, Mr. Francis Low. To warm us up, we were led to do some aerobic exercises (yes, the ones we usually do in school). Then we were given a pretty long briefing on the safety measures and the methods of belaying and climbing. For those who are not sure, a belayer is someone who supports and ensures the climbers safety.
We were allowed to climb freely after the teaching session. Initially, some girls were scared and dare not try to climb, but after much persuasion, many tried and enjoyed it tremendously. It helped some overcome their fear of height. Beside that, there was this challenge set by Mr. Francis. The challenge was: whoever who manage to touch the stone in the red box will get a prize (it was pretty high up). All were excited to get the prize and tried their best. Eventually, they figured out that by pushing each other up, it will help a lot and make the task easier. It was nice indeed to see the cooperation between all the girls.
Hours of climbing later, all were sweaty and exhausted. After some interactive games and few more climbs, we headed back to youth house. Dinner was great, as we had dominos pizza, and as everyone was so hungry, food was extra delicious. We had devotion by Cmdr. Sumi and played a few games including mafia. And as usual, most girls ended up talking in bed and slept very late.
This camp was great, as fellowship, food, activities were good. Thank God for the smooth going activities and that everyone was in good shape. And also special thanks to Cmdr. Esther who plan a successful camp even though she was busy. Looking forward to the next camp! Praise the Lord.

hi shinying, i am surprised to hear yr comment and u reading reading the website.so glad that uenjoyed yrself very much at the rock and slumber nite. last Sun, i heard fr Grace Kam you wont be coming for RR anymore! we are feeling real sad. will talk to yr parents soon.cheers.

hmmmm..it was a really gud slumber party! sleeping at 3.30 and waking up at 7!C=naughty gurls..heehee

That was the best activity! But tis will be my last RR activity, coz i am moving to Surabaya, Indonesia next month. Good knowing you guys at RR!

This is the first time i rock climb!!This experience was fantastic!!I wish to do it again.I had a great time in this first activity in Adventure Girls.:p
